Registrations opened for Denman Island’s 2021 Farmers Market Coupon Program, which provides coupons for eligible participants to spend on food at the market. ^[1]

Participants will receive $21 per week for 16 weeks, with coupons usable from June 19 to October 9 for fruit, vegetables, eggs, meat and nuts. ^[1]

The program prioritizes seniors, pregnant women and families with children under five, and is also open to people who identify as low-income or face barriers such as isolation. The organizers said places are limited and some applicants may be waitlisted. ^[1]

The program is jointly coordinated on Denman by DICES and the GPA, and the organizers said they had been awarded 25 placements. ^[1]
