Louise Bell died peacefully on June 17, according to a notice in this week’s newsletter. The notice says she was at home with her daughters and cat, and describes her as having a vibrant joy of living and a love of challenging projects.[1]

Bell grew up in Toronto and moved to the west coast in 1989, the notice says. It recalls her enjoyment of the outdoors, including looking for trilliums in Ontario and finding shells on Denman beaches.[1]

The notice says Bell’s wishes included a small gathering at a green burial, with flowers from Denman and shared stories. A celebration of life is planned when travel restrictions allow.[1]
