A proposed covered recreation space beside the Denman Island Community Hall is awaiting a final quote and images of the structure in place, according to an update from the Denman Island Community Education Society (DICES) in this week’s Grapevine.[1]
The Covered Recreational Space Committee selected local company Tree Island Construction from the proposals it received, the update said.[1]
Grant applications seeking additional funding were submitted in recent months, with confirmation of approvals still pending. The project is intended for community activities and free play, and the update said the design would allow airflow to lessen the risk of COVID-19 transmission.[1]
