A free wood-debris pickup on Denman is scheduled to begin October 18, according to a notice in this week’s Grapevine.[1]
The notice said the Comox Valley Regional District and K’ómoks First Nation were offering the program using Community Resiliency Investment Grant funding. Chipped wood was to remain on Denman and go to Two Roads Farm for mixing and composting.[1]
The notice said branches must be under 16 centimetres in diameter and under 10 metres long. It excluded leaves, treated lumber, roots, rocks, nails and invasive species, and asked residents to stack branch ends in the same direction.[1]
Bundles were to be placed visibly at the end of driveways, not on public roadways. The notice said debris brought out after work began might not be picked up.[1]
