The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave first reading to three draft bylaws for the Denman Housing Association proposal at its November 2 special meeting, while deciding that second reading was premature.[1]
The committee’s minutes list pending items including a water licence, confirmation of sewage-disposal capacity for the Danes Road receiver parcels, a policy-statement checklist and staff review of the proposed water-management plan.[1]
The applicant told the committee that Island Health had no further need to comment on the water plan until the system’s design stage, and that the wastewater system’s design was premature and expected early in 2022.[1]
The committee said referral responses, community input and pending documents and analysis could inform changes, and that deferring second reading might not delay the process depending on the information received.[1]
