The referendum on bringing fibre-optic service to Denman and Hornby passed, with 1,192 yes votes and 81 no votes, according to results published in the December 2 Grapevine.[1]
At Denman polling places, 547 voters cast ballots; 439 voted at Hornby polls, and 287 ballots were cast by mail or at the advance poll in Courtenay.[1]
The results table lists 426 yes votes and 21 no votes in Denman’s main vote, and 97 yes votes and three no votes in the special vote.[1]
The Grapevine report said CityWest would install a connection from the road to a house without charge if the property owner signed a Drop Approval form, and that signing the form did not commit the owner to subscribing to service.[1]
