About 31 members of the public attended an electronic meeting on January 13 about the Denman Housing Association’s proposed Denman Green project and related bylaws. The meeting included a presentation and a question-and-answer session. [1]

The proposal includes up to 20 affordable-housing units at 1151 Northwest Road, with 19 densities transferred from the Denman Island Density Bank. The application also proposes changes affecting parcels on Danes Road and Woodham Road. [1]

The meeting minutes say site water and wastewater plans were complete, while an environmental assessment was awaited to determine a setback for a waterlogged area. The Islands Trust Freshwater Specialist had raised concerns about water-demand calculations, rainwater harvesting, water treatment, climate modelling and stormwater planning. [1]

Questions from the public included when Island Health would review the water system. The planner said Island Health had received the water plan and that its next step was to approve the system design. [1]
