About thirty-one members of the public attended an electronic community information meeting on January 13 about the Denman Housing Association’s proposed Denman Green project and related bylaws.[1]

The proposal includes up to 20 units of affordable housing at 1151 Northwest Road, with 19 densities proposed to be transferred from the Denman Island Density Bank; the meeting minutes describe the bylaws as proposed, not adopted.[1]

The minutes say the project’s site water and wastewater plans were completed, while an environmental assessment was awaited to determine a setback for a waterlogged area on the site.[1]

Referral comments recorded at the meeting included concerns from the Islands Trust Freshwater Specialist about water demand calculations, rainwater harvesting, water treatment, climate modelling and stormwater management.[1]
