The Denman Island Local Trust Committee is seeking public feedback through a questionnaire for its Farming Regulations Review Project, with responses accepted until April 15, 2022.[1]
The questionnaire asks about farming regulations, and the committee’s February minutes say the project concerns the regulation of agri-food and commercial food production by farming.[2]
At its February 15 meeting, the committee generally endorsed the questionnaire, subject to changes discussed at the meeting, and approved up to $2,000 from the project budget for advertising and direct mail.[2]
The March 22 meeting minutes record residents’ concerns that the project’s framing did not address topics including climate change, water conservation, regenerative agriculture, local food and subsistence agriculture.[1]
