A public hearing on proposed bylaws for Denman Green is scheduled for 7 p.m. on May 30 at the Denman Community Hall, with a community information meeting set for 6:30 p.m. beforehand.^[1]

The notice says the proposals concern changes to the Official Community Plan, Land Use Bylaw and a housing agreement. The affordable-housing receiver parcel would have site-specific zoning for up to twenty units; the notice also describes proposed regulations for market-housing parcels.^[1]

At a special meeting on April 29, the Denman Island Local Trust Committee considered staff recommendations to give second readings to two bylaws and schedule a public hearing. The minutes record that the committee amended Bylaw No. 242 and carried motions giving second readings to the bylaws.^[2]

The April minutes also record discussion of water and wastewater reports, well monitoring and the proposed septic system. The notice says written submissions are welcome at the hearing and may be emailed or mailed by May 29.^[1]
