A special Denman Island Local Trust Committee meeting on April 21 presented preliminary results from a questionnaire for the Farming Regulations Review project and gave members of the public an opportunity to ask questions. [1]

The project is reviewing farm-worker housing and agri-tourism accommodation, and considering zoning and Official Community Plan updates. The consultant said questionnaire submissions were still being received and that results would be analyzed and presented to the committee and Advisory Planning Commission to inform next steps. [1]

Questions at the meeting covered agricultural definitions, housing in the Agricultural Land Reserve, agri-tourism accommodation and setbacks from waterbodies. The minutes record questions about wetland drainage, greenhouse restrictions, enforcement and whether farm-worker housing could count as agri-tourism accommodation. [1]

The minutes say the project had received an $18,000 grant. [1]
