About 35 people attended a May 30 community information meeting at Denman Community Hall on proposed bylaw changes for the Denman Housing Association’s Denman Green project.[1]
The proposal includes a new affordable-housing zone and a housing agreement requiring 20 units to be rented to qualified occupants at an affordable rate, with annual reporting to the Islands Trust.[1]
Questions covered water use, the proposed well, tenant selection and the transfer of density from Woodham Road to Danes Road. The meeting record says the water-licence application was with the Province, which would review effects on adjacent water users.[1]
The minutes describe the meeting as an opportunity to provide information before a public hearing; they do not record a decision on the proposed bylaws at that meeting.[1]
