Marjorie Catherine Pope died peacefully on July 24, according to an obituary in this week’s Islands Grapevine.[1]

The obituary says Pope moved to Denman Island in 1981 and to Comox in 2005. It describes her as an artist who taught Sunday school at Denman United Church and volunteered at the Courtenay Soup Kitchen for more than 20 years.[1]

Her family wrote that they were grateful to her caregivers at Cummings Seniors Home and Cumberland Lodge. The obituary says they hoped to hold an event for her in the fall, if community gatherings permitted.[1]
