The Association for Denman Island Marine Stewards has scheduled its 19th annual beach cleanup for October 22 to 29. [1]
The notice says volunteers can clean their designated shoreline area at any time during the week, and that registration will be available at the Old School on October 22. A trailer for collected debris is scheduled to be available there on October 29. [1]
The association’s update says its teams removed approximately 50 metric tonnes of marine debris in 2021, much of it described as shellfish-industry debris. [1]
