A Halloween dance fundraiser for the Denman Island Community Hall is scheduled for Saturday, October 22, with Vancouver band Balkan Shmalkan and DJ Eliazar, an event notice in the Grapevine says. ^[1]

The notice says the band is set to play two sets, from 9 to 10 p.m. and 10:30 to 11:30 p.m., and describes the event as all ages with a bar. It also says prizes are planned for costumes. ^[1]

The notice asks people who feel sick not to attend and says the fundraiser is intended to support the Community Hall. ^[1]
