Denman Island Local Trust Committee trustees amended draft farming regulations on October 14 to set a 30.0-metre setback for agricultural buildings and structures, except fences. [1]
The minutes say the committee had sought more information on setbacks from watercourses. Planner Marlis McCargar reported that the memorandum recommended excluding fencing from the setback requirement at that stage, to support a full range of acceptable agricultural uses. [1]
The minutes also record discussion of a more comprehensive future review of setbacks and Development Permit Areas. A motion to add an information note about provincial fence setbacks did not move forward because it had no seconder. [1]
