A new board has been selected to run and manage the Denman Island Hall, and it is planning several changes for the community space. [1]
The board says a warming centre is being established for severe weather at -4°C or below, with the Hall open from 8pm to 8am for people needing a place to warm up. The centre will be staffed, have snacks and be funded by the CVRD, the notice says. [1]
The HUB, formerly the old preschool, is expected to house the Food Bank and offer shared workspace; the board says details about memberships and other services are forthcoming. It also plans a discounted rental option for the front hall for non-official events lasting 4 hours or less. [1]
The notice invites residents to a New Year’s Eve dance at the Hall, scheduled to start at 8:30pm. [1]
