The Denman Island Local Trust Committee deferred further discussion of the Denman Green application to its February 7 meeting, where staff expected to provide options on whether to receive new information after the public hearing.[1]
At a special meeting on January 17, staff reported that the province had issued a groundwater licence for the project. They said the licence was not new information under post-public-hearing rules because the committee had required proof of an issued licence before considering final adoption of the bylaws.[1]
Staff also reported that K’ómoks First Nation had sent a referral response late in 2022, and that the newly elected Chief and Council were reconsidering it and expected to provide an update. Staff said they would assess whether the information warranted the committee receiving new information after the public hearing.[1]
