The Denman Island Local Trust Committee deferred discussion of the Denman Green application at a Jan. 17 special meeting, with the item scheduled to return on Feb. 7. [1]

Planner Sonja Zupanec reported that the province had issued a groundwater licence for the project and that staff did not consider it new information for the post-public-hearing process, because proof of an issued licence was required before final adoption of the bylaws could be considered. [1]

She also reported that a referral response from K’ómoks First Nation had arrived late in 2022 and that staff had been told the newly elected Chief and Council were reconsidering it and would provide an update. Staff planned to assess the information when received and advise whether it warranted the committee receiving new information after the public hearing. [1]
