A Denman Island event for International Women’s Day is scheduled for Wednesday, March 8, with a 6:30 start at the front hall, according to a notice in this week’s Grapevine.[1]
The notice says the evening will include a screening of “Afghanistan: No Country for Women,” followed by tea and a debriefing before three women guests from Afghanistan share stories of their journeys and adjustments to life in Canada.[1]
The program also includes traditional Afghan women’s dancing, a song by three Denman women and a dance of universal peace. The notice says women and allies are welcome.[1]
