Denman’s first Community Dance brought families and children to the Community Hall on Saturday, Feb. 25, despite snow, according to an account in this week’s Islands Grapevine.[1]

The dance was pay-as-you-can, with a suggested donation of five dollars; the organizers recouped their costs and had money set aside for the next month’s hall rental, the account said.[1]

The Back Hall was also being used as a warming centre. People using the centre joined the dance, and some stayed afterward to sleep beside the wood stove, the account said.[1]
