The proposed Gravelly Bay terminal expansion and tree cutting plans were discussed at the Denman Island Local Trust Committee meeting on April 4. The chair reported that he and the regional planning manager had met with BC Ferries representatives and that community consultation on the issues was planned.[1]

Trustee Sam Borthwick also reported attending a Ferry Advisory Committee meeting where concerns about the proposed expansion were discussed.[1]

A Grapevine community survey asked residents about summer tourist traffic and the proposed terminal project, including whether BC Ferries had conducted fair and proper community consultation. The survey described more than 120 trees as slated to be cut down.[2]
