Comox Valley Regional District Area A Director Daniel Arbour reported that a $491,000 provincial grant is intended to fund a large section of the Denman Cross-Island trail, with a major portion planned from Owl Crescent toward the Gravelly Bay ferry.[1]
Arbour also reported a $50,000 increase in the Denman Fire Service budget, bringing its requisition to $450,000 from $400,000, and a one-time $100,000 contribution to the Denman Green affordable housing project.[1]
For the covered recreation space, Arbour said the CVRD authorized a one-time $40,000 allocation from the Denman Facilities Service, in addition to an $18,000 grant. He wrote that the average Denman property would see about a $200 increase in the cost of CVRD-controlled services.[1]
