The Denman Island Local Trust Committee appointed seven members to its Housing Advisory Planning Commission at a special meeting on April 25. The appointments took effect immediately and run to April 25, 2025.[1]
The committee discussed a short timeline for a proposed Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation grant application. The minutes say the expedited process was not supported because members recognized the need for adequate community and commission consultation and careful consideration at a pace that works for the community.[1]
The committee is beginning a Housing Review Project examining bylaws and housing options. It asked staff to provide the commission with the Official Community Plan, Land Use Bylaw and Housing Review, and asked staff to provide hard copies of the island’s Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaws to the local trustees.[1]
