The Denman Island Bus Service starts Thursday, May 4, and is scheduled to run until September 4, according to the service’s notice in this week’s Grapevine.[1]
The service runs Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The notice says the bus leaves Denman West at 8:15 a.m. and returns there at 7:55 p.m., making eight circuits around the island.[1]
The bus is free, and the route has 16 stops, including Graham Lake, MacFarlane Beach, Fillongley Park and Chickadee Lake. The notice says the service is using one diesel bus this season.[1]
The service says five days a week is what it can sustain because of budget constraints. It also says extra or modified service will be available for island events, and that plans are in motion for bi-weekly shopping trips to Courtenay on Wednesdays.[1]
