The Denman Island Local Trust Committee appointed seven members to the Housing Advisory Planning Commission at a closed portion of its April 25 special meeting, according to the minutes.^[1]

The minutes say the appointments took effect immediately and run until April 25, 2025. The commission is to consider a referral related to the Trust’s Housing Review, with a proposed focus on the Housing Action Group report.^[1]

The committee discussed a possible application for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation grant funding. The minutes record concern about the short timeline and say the expedited application process was not supported because of the need for adequate community and commission consultation.^[1]

The committee also asked staff to provide hard copies of Denman’s Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaws to the local trustees. The minutes say a trustee noted that paper copies were no longer available in the Denman Island library, and trustees supported funding replacement copies from their budget.^[1]
