The Denman Island Local Trust Committee appointed seven members to its Housing Advisory Planning Commission at a special meeting on April 25, according to the meeting minutes. The appointments took effect immediately and run to April 25, 2025.^[1]

The committee discussed requirements for a Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation grant application, including a housing action plan, commission review, business case and community consultation. The minutes record concern about the short timeline and say the expedited application process was not supported.^[1]

The minutes say the committee is beginning a Housing Review Project to examine bylaws and housing options. Members requested that staff provide the commission with the Official Community Plan, Land Use Bylaw and Housing Review.^[1]

At its April 4 meeting, the committee heard public comments about housing affordability and the proposed Bylaw Enforcement Notification bylaw. The minutes record a request from the Denman Island Housing Action Group to refer proposed amendments to the commission; they do not record a decision on that request.^[2]
