A notice in The Islands Grapevine says BC Ferries has issued another survey seeking input on Routes 21 and 22, with a June 16 deadline.[1]

The notice, signed “By Friends of Denman Forests,” says the survey’s question about lumber from Gravelly Bay does not offer an option to leave the trees standing and urges respondents who oppose cutting to select “other” and comment.[1]

The notice also says Friends of Denman Forests is compiling information and resident accounts of close calls with speeding traffic on Denman routes used by Hornby-bound traffic, with the aim of encouraging a direct summer ferry to Hornby and holding back excess Hornby ferry traffic in Buckley Bay.[1]

Minutes from the June 6 Local Trust Committee meeting record that Trustee Sam Borthwick reported on a Ferry Advisory Committee meeting with BC Ferries to discuss summer ferry plans, which was well attended by Denman community members.[2]
