Denman Island’s Local Trust Committee gave second readings to amended versions of proposed farming-related bylaws at its June 6 meeting.^[1]

The committee amended the proposed Official Community Plan bylaw and gave it second reading as amended. It also amended the proposed Land Use Bylaw, including changes to the agri-tourism definition and a provision concerning permitted buildings and structures, then gave that bylaw second reading as amended.^[1]

The committee directed staff to notify property owners affected by changes to land-use designations. It also added a Land Use Bylaw map amendment project to its future-projects list, with the stated aim of aligning Official Community Plan designations with zoning regulations.^[1]

The minutes record that the committee discussed adding a map change for about five properties designated Agriculture in the Official Community Plan and in the Agricultural Land Reserve. Staff said including that work in the amendments under consideration could extend the project timeline by a few months.^[1]
