DICES is asking for donations to its “Send a Kid to Camp” campaign, which helps cover the cost of summer camp for children on Denman Island.[1]
The camps run for five weeks, with each day beginning and ending at The Hub in the Denman Island Community Hall. DICES staff and volunteers lead activities including gardening, music, theatre and exploring local amenities.[1]
The notice says a donation of $40 can cover one day of camp and $160 can cover a week. DICES hopes to raise $800 to fund a week of camp for five children.[1]
The camps also offer leadership opportunities for youth aged 15 to 30 through Canada Summer Jobs funding, the notice says.[1]
