Denman’s Local Trust Committee asked staff to write to transportation officials and other named representatives about examining a ferry from Vancouver Island to Hornby Island that would not cross Denman. [1]
The request followed a presentation to the committee about through traffic from the cross-island ferry system. The minutes say the presenter outlined concerns about the existing system and asked trustees to support a direct sailing. [1]
At the October 3 meeting, public comments also raised concerns about speeding, congestion and safety on Denman’s ferry-traffic roads. [1]
The minutes record the committee’s request to staff, not a change to ferry service. [1]
