Cross-island ferry traffic and road safety were raised during public comments at Denman’s October 3 Local Trust Committee meeting, according to the minutes.[1]

The minutes record comments that traffic had increased, including mid-week travel, and that residents could no longer safely walk or bike on roads used by ferry traffic.[1]

A delegation asked the committee to support examining a ferry route between Vancouver Island and Hornby Island rather than across Denman; the committee requested a letter to provincial and ferry officials and a regional district director about that option.[1]

The minutes also record concerns about congestion near the Denman West terminal and the absence of promised flaggers in the village. These were comments made at the meeting, not findings by the committee.[1]
