Two letters in the January 4 issue give opposing accounts of care from Denman doctors. S.W. Simpson wrote about medical problems, and Bob Whitehouse wrote that his experience was different.[1]

Whitehouse wrote that Dr. Taylor recommended cortisone shots for his painful knees, but that another doctor at the clinic refused to give the injection. He wrote that Dr. Taylor later administered it and that he was able to golf without pain.[1]

Whitehouse wrote that Dr. Taylor had helped with his other health issues and described her as knowledgeable and empathetic. He hoped Simpson could find care in a Vancouver Island clinic or a family doctor in the Courtenay area.[1]
