Denman Island trustees reviewed options for housing-related changes to the Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw at a special meeting on Feb. 20, according to adopted minutes. The meeting was described as an information-gathering session, with public input expected at a future in-person meeting on Denman.[1]
The options discussed included allowing accessory dwelling units in more zones, removing the temporary-use-permit requirement for them, and eliminating the density bank. The minutes record trustee support for those options, with conditions noted for some proposals.[1]
On vacation rentals, the minutes say a bylaw-compliance report was forthcoming and trustees would consider a decision after receiving the analysis. The meeting minutes do not record a final decision on that issue.[1]
