Denman Island trustees reviewed options from a housing report at a special meeting on February 20, including allowing more accessory dwelling units and secondary suites in some zones.[1]
The minutes record support for several options, including permitting secondary suites where dwellings are allowed and removing the temporary-use-permit requirement for accessory dwelling units. Some options came with conditions, such as appropriate water or waste-disposal servicing.[1]
Trustees did not recommend a medium-density multi-family zone at that meeting. The minutes say public input was expected at a future in-person meeting on Denman Island.[1]
