Denman’s Local Trust Committee reviewed a Komas Ranch rezoning application at its June 4 meeting, with the existing land-use contract scheduled to terminate June 30, 2024.[1]
The application proposes increasing the allowable number of single-family dwellings on two lots from 9 to 20, with each permitted dwelling allowed one accessory guest dwelling of no more than 400 square feet. It also seeks to rezone part of one lot from Rural to Conservation/Recreation.[1]
The minutes record that the applicant and one property owner said the original contract did not include a public trail, and that Komas Ranch had allowed day-use public access to nearby marine park and boating areas, Morning Beach Park and Longbeak Point. They said a trail, if established, would cross private property.[1]
The committee’s minutes describe the application and discussion; they do not record a decision on the rezoning at that meeting.[1]
