Beaufort Watershed Stewards says it is sending a letter opposing a water licence application to MLA Josie Osborne, according to an article by Mike Mesford in The Islands Grapevine.[1]

Mesford wrote that the group could not show whether the licence posed a threat to a local aquifer, but also could not show that it did not. He said the group’s opposition was based on a lack of scientific data.[1]

The article describes work with the University of Victoria and the BC Conservation Foundation, including geophysical surveys and stream-flow measurements in the Rosewall Creek area.[1]
