The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave first readings to proposed amendments that would remove the Temporary Use Permit requirement for secondary dwellings in specified zones, according to its August meeting minutes. [1]

The minutes say the proposed changes cover lands zoned Rural Residential, Agriculture, Forestry and Resource, and would also remove the density bank. [1]

The planner reported that 37 properties are in the specified zones and that reports and community input recommended removing the permit requirement. [1]

The committee gave first reading to Bylaw No. 248, an Official Community Plan amendment, and Bylaw No. 249, a Land Use Bylaw amendment. [1]
