The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave first reading to a proposed rezoning bylaw for the Triple Rock Land Co-op at its October 8 meeting. The application seeks additional density and permission for secondary suites in all units.[1]
The committee amended the draft to change the density figure from 15 to 19, then voted to give the bylaw first reading and refer it to First Nations, local governments and agencies for comment.[1]
The minutes say a septic filing from a Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioner or Professional Engineer is required before construction of a suite. Island Health is responsible for approval and oversight of onsite sewage disposal systems on Denman.[1]
The committee also requested that a community information meeting and public hearing on its housing-related temporary use permit review be scheduled alongside the regularly scheduled December business meeting.[1]
