The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave first reading to a proposed bylaw amendment for Triple Rock Land Co-op that would increase the permitted number of units and allow secondary suites in all units.[1]

At its October 8 meeting, the committee amended the draft to replace 15 with 19 in the density table, then gave the bylaw first reading and referred it to First Nations, local governments and agencies for comment.[1]

The minutes say a property owner must submit a septic filing from a Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioner or Professional Engineer before constructing a suite. Island Health is responsible for approval and oversight of onsite sewage disposal systems on Denman Island.[1]
