Denman trustees advance Triple Rock housing bylaws to community meeting

The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gives first and second readings to bylaws for the Triple Rock Land Cooperative, advancing a proposal for four additional dwelling units and a total of 19 dwelling units with associated secondary suites. Staff are asked to schedule a community information meeting before a public hearing. ^[1]

The committee gives first and second readings to proposed Bylaw No. 255, an Official Community Plan amendment, and first and second readings to proposed Bylaw No. 254, a housing agreement bylaw. It gives second reading to proposed Bylaw No. 250, a Land Use Bylaw amendment. ^[1]

The proposed Official Community Plan amendment removes four densities from the density bank. The updated housing agreement replaces the original 2008 agreement and regulates affordability and occupancy for the dwelling units and secondary suites. ^[1]

The committee also asks staff to amend the draft housing agreement by removing schedules A and B, which contain the cooperative’s rules and governance documents. ^[1]

The committee refers proposed Bylaw No. 255 to First Nations, local governments and agencies for comment. ^[1]
