A benefit supper and film screening are scheduled at the Denman Island Community Hall on Friday, May 30, with supper at 5 p.m. and the film at 6 p.m., according to a notice in the May 22 issue of The Islands Grapevine.[1]

The notice says the event supports Sara Kishawi, whom it describes as suspended for two years from Vancouver Island University for advocacy for Palestinian rights. It says Kishawi has filed a judicial review of the suspension with the BC Supreme Court.[1]

The notice identifies the film as The Encampments and says donations for people unable to attend can be sent by e-transfer.[1]
