The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave first and second readings to proposed changes tied to the Triple Rock Land Cooperative’s rezoning application at its May 20 meeting. The application seeks four additional dwelling units, bringing the total to 19, and an updated housing agreement intended to encourage long-term affordability.[1]
The committee also requested a community information meeting before a public hearing and asked staff to refer a related Official Community Plan amendment to First Nations, local governments and agencies for comment.[1]
The minutes say the applicant spoke against including the cooperative’s rules and governance documents in the updated agreement, saying changes to those rules could require consultation and amendments. Trustees agreed the schedules were not necessary in the agreement and asked staff to remove them.[1]
