The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave first and second readings to proposed amendments connected to a Triple Rock Land Cooperative rezoning application at its May 20 meeting. The application seeks four additional dwelling units, bringing the total to 19, with associated secondary suites and an updated housing agreement intended to encourage long-term affordability.[1]
The committee gave first and second readings to Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 255, second reading to Land Use Bylaw Amendment No. 250, and first and second readings to Housing Agreement Bylaw No. 254.[1]
The committee asked staff to schedule a community information meeting before a public hearing and to refer the proposed Official Community Plan amendment to First Nations, local governments and agencies for comment.[1]
The committee also asked staff to amend the draft housing agreement by removing schedules A and B. The minutes say the applicant argued that including the cooperative’s rules and governance documents could mean future changes require consultation and amendments.[1]
