The Old School Committee and Denman Island Climate Action Network say they have raised $23,750 in donations and pledges toward replacing the Old School’s oil furnace with a heat pump. The estimated installation cost is $30,000.[1]
The groups said they would accept donations and pledges at the Saturday market on June 28, and would sell pieces donated by members of the spinners and weavers, with proceeds going to the project.[1]
They said they hoped to raise the remaining funds so the heat pump could be installed before winter.[1]
