Community feast set for Denman hall on August 24

Farm to Family Meals Service Society and University of Victoria field-school students are preparing a free community meal at the community hall.

A community feast is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, August 24, at the Denman Island Community Hall, with food prepared by University of Victoria Environmental Studies Field School students and Farm to Family Meals Service Society.^[1]

The notice says the meal will feature local food donated or purchased from Denman and Comox Valley gardens and farms. Gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options are planned.^[1]

The event is free, with a donation jar available; funds collected are to be split between Farm to Family and an organization chosen by the students. Attendees are asked to bring their own plate, bowl, cup and cutlery.^[1]
