The Denman Island Local Trust Committee asked staff to schedule a community engagement session about the housing project in September or October, according to minutes of its July meeting.^[1]

The minutes say staff were preparing key materials for a July 26 community engagement session and that Saturday, September 20 had been identified as a potential date for a future session.^[1]

The housing project was also discussed at the meeting through a delegation about a proposal for 10 affordable dwelling units at 5400 Northwest Road. The delegation described plans for clustered housing operated by a not-for-profit housing co-op, along with a campground, community garden and common areas.^[1]

The minutes record that the proposal’s proponents said they would continue to hold information sessions and develop the proposal.^[1]
