The Free Shack, a reuse shed on Denman, was scheduled to close Sept. 30, with donations to be removed, according to a community notice by Shane Nelson in The Islands Grapevine.[1]

Nelson wrote that the Shack had offered islanders a place to share and reuse goods after the Free Store at the Old School closed during COVID. He said he hoped users would find a new location and structure, and that he wanted to hand the project on.[1]

Nelson described the existing space as too small for the goods it received and said larger items were damaged by rain. He suggested a future site could include covered space, backup storage and off-street parking.[1]
