Denman Island United Church and its Gathering Place are seeking broader community support to help keep their doors open, according to an update by Helen Wilson. [1]
Wilson wrote that the space hosts concerts, community events, workshops and community groups, and that Sunday offerings no longer cover the church’s expenses. She credited support from the Community Auction, DenmanWorks, a CV Recreation Grant and United Church grants. [1]
An update and question-and-answer session is scheduled for Wednesday, October 22, from 10 to 12, followed by refreshments and the church’s 2025 annual general meeting for those who wish to stay. [1]
