Four members of the public addressed the Denman Island Local Trust Committee on December 16 about the Apartheid Free Community campaign, according to the meeting minutes. [1]
They asked the committee to sign a pledge declaring the Denman Island Local Trust Area an apartheid-free community and to support calls concerning an arms embargo, the Gaza Temporary Resident Visa Program, contracting policies and recognition of anti-Palestinian racism. [1]
A trustee expressed support for anti-apartheid movements and said there was a point on the agenda when the committee would respond to the request. The correspondence was added to the agenda. [1]
